Ann Bliss is retired Associate Clinical Professor in Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, where for 25 years, she taught courses on Personality Development and Psychopathology to physician associate students. Previous to Yale she taught on the faculties of SUNY Buffalo and Niagara University. An Alumna of University of Pennsylvania and Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, she received her psychoanalytic training from certified analyst and Shakespearean scholar Norman Holland, PhD, JD. Named one of Connecticut's BEST THERAPISTS; by PSYCHOLOGY TODAY, she continues private practice. She is an active member of the Connecticut Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology; The American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work; and is Emeritus of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In addition to working a relationship with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Ann has served as consultant to the Carnegie, Commonwealth, Macy, and Rockefeller Foundations on health manpower policy. She is author and coauthor of several books, chapters, and papers on health research and policy. In 2010 the American Academy of Physician Assistants honored her at its Annual Conference IMPACT for her contributions to the national professionalization of physician assistants. Sheldon Baker is the fifth-generation direct descendant of apocalyptic prophet William Miller, Jr., architect of the Great Disappointment of 1844. Baker is the inheritor of Prophet Miller's unique complete codex rendered on silk depicting his prophecy for the end of the world. Inspiration for this book, the silk consists of a top register of biblical references married to three bottom registers of zoographic images from Old Testament Daniel and New Testament Revelation. An alumnus of Middlebury College, Baker was for a decade the Phantom Diner on Connecticut's WFSB Channel 3. He sings baritone with the Con Brio Choral Society, which he has also served as president. He is also on the board of the Connecticut Early Music Festival, and served on several boards in the paper and catalog industries. The Millers were an early Massachusetts family which played its part in Colonial and Yankee history. The known geneology goes back to Thomas Miller who was killed in 1675 by Indians in King Phillip's War; Ensign John Miller (1657-1735); Captain Joseph Miller (1700-1760); William Miller (1730-?); Prophet Miller's father Captain William Miller, Sr. (1757-1812) who fought and was wounded in the Revolutionary War; Prophet William Miller, Jr. (1782-1849) who fought in the War of 1812 at Plattsburg, New York; Prophet William Miller's youngest daughter Lucy Ann (b. 1825) married Warren Bartholomew; their daughter Antoinette (b. 1845) married George Offensend; their daughter Anna Lucy Offensend (b. 1882) married Arthur Baker; their son George Baker (b.1911) was father to coauthor Sheldon Baker (b.1943).
