Reviews
"appealing illustrations which are whimsical but tempered with a dash of quirky, Edward Gorey-style grimness." - ilovebooks.com

"The story made me keep turning the pages till the very end, as the writing generates beauty through its simplicity. The plot bears features of an allegory, as it contains several levels of understanding. This book can be read and enjoyed as a simple tale woven around an alley-cat, although it has a deeper layer of ideas inter-twined in it. The themes are presented just as parts of the world it describes ..... the writing denotes wit, subtle humor and even cynicism towards the absurdities found in the human world. The story is strewn with illustrations which contribute considerably to the artistic value of this piece of writing." - Rated 5 stars by Readers' Favorite

Book
Rules provide a framework that establishes boundaries and expectations, ensuring that individuals can coexist peacefully. They create a sense of structure and predictability, promoting fairness and accountability. However, rules alone are not enough to build a thriving community. We must also find a reason to fit in, a sense of purpose that allows us to forge deeper connections, and create a sense of belonging.

Only then can we create a community where individuals can flourish, united by a shared vision and a sense of belonging.

Part II of this series continues our journey with the ordinary, average, and conventional cat as he trudges awkwardly through the contradictions in life.

À propos de l'auteur

R.S. Vern is the author of an award-winning illustrated book trilogy series, "Haee and the Other Middlings." Part One of this series, "Haee The Cat with a Crooked Tail," won the International IndieReader Discovery Award in 2013. An oddly conflicted soul, she finds herself constantly torn between the challenges of saving the world and the realities of making a living. She calls herself a middling - urbanized, uneased, and most of the time, in a flux. Haee was a real cat living in her home. Instead of writing as herself, she feels that it is less brutal seeing life through the eyes of a cat. The world of middlings takes a meaningful jab at middle class poignancy of the 21st century and provides a delightful read at what it means to be functioning, breathing, and living as we are today, all through the eyes of an ingenious cat. R.S. Vern holds a B.A. in English Literature, an M.A. in Communications, and a G.D. in Applied Positive Psychology.
