Synopsis

A demonstration of how the features of object-oriented programming may be applied to the development of a computer algebra system, where the selected programming language used is C++. The design is based partly on solid experience and feedback from actual use. The work should be suitable for lectures on symbolic computation and object-oriented programming, and the level of presentation is such that it could be used to study the subject early on in the science education process.
