This book describes the effects of indirect lightening on distribution power systems. For achieved the goal of the book, it consists of seven chapters. Chapter one shortly deals with physics of lightning and lightning protection of power system. Chapter two discusses the effect of lightning on the power systems and different protection devices. Chapter three is focused on literature review on the lightning induced voltage due to indirect lightning stroke. Chapter four is about identifying lightning channel-base current characteristics and finding Heidler function parameters which will be used in induced voltage and current computation. Chapter five is about analyzing the effect of incline return stroke channel on the induced voltage on the overhead distribution line which can be compared with results of traditional vertical return stroke channel. Chapter six is analyzing the performance of overhead distribution line against indirect lightning by considering ground with two vertical or horizontal layers. Finally, chapter seven is about analyzing induced current in the shield of underground cable due to inclined return stroke channel by using 3D FEM.
