Professor Sivalingam Nalliah, MBBS (Malaya), MRCOG, FRCOG, MCGP, Master's in Education, Master's in Instructional Design and Technology, is a senior academic in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia, where he has served since 2003. He previously held leadership roles as Head of the Department of OBGYN at the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur Hospital. His research interests include gestational diabetes, endometrial cancer, and hypertension in pregnancy and obstetric emergencies.
Dr. Saraswathy Thangarajoo is a senior academic in Nursing at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Malaysia, where she has been serving since 2022. She previously held leadership roles as Head of the Department of Nursing and Paediatric specialisation course coordinator. Her research interests encompass nursing education, interprofessional education and collaborative practices (IPECP), infection control, and patient safety. Dr. Saraswathy is actively engaged in international collaboration in IPECP, including research initiatives with ITEKES, Pontianak, Indonesia, and lectures to medical, pharmacy and nursing students at Universitas Tanjungpura, Indonesia. Additionally, she serves as an invited speaker for the Student IPE Leadership Program organised by the Gunma University, WHOCC, Japan.
Dr. Amutha Navamoney holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (UK), a master’s degree in Education, and a PhD in Education from Malaysia. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Head of the MSc in Information Technology Management (MScITM) Programme, and as a Research Methodology Course Facilitator for the School of Education at GlobalNxt University, Malaysia. Her contributions include faculty development, curriculum design, educational assessment, and technology-driven education. Her research interests focus on innovative teaching strategies, technology-enhanced learning, and healthcare professional education, underpinned by Design-Based Research.
Professor Takayuki Saitoh currently serves as Dean of the Graduate School of Health Sciences and Director of the Patient Safety Education Centre for Multiprofessionals. His leadership focuses on advancing international-standard patient safety education, with an emphasis on teamwork, leadership, a holistic approach, and quality improvement. Dr. Saitoh also leads internationalisation efforts within the Faculty of Health Sciences and is a core member of Gunma University’s WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training on Interprofessional Education. His research spans the establishment of a co-creation hub for health and medical care in emergencies and crises, patient safety, interprofessional education, data sciences, leukaemia, DNA repair, multiple myeloma, and polymorphisms.
Professor Bumsuk Lee is a Korean occupational therapist and is currently a Professor at the Graduate School of Health Sciences, Gunma University in Japan. He then went into teaching and research in the fields of upper extremity function, rehabilitation curriculum development, and Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Collaborative Practice (CP). He has been involved with the development of rehabilitation and IPE curriculum and the launch of the research platform of IPE and CP in multiple Asian countries. At present, he is the Director of the Centre for Research and Training on Interprofessional Education (WHO Collaborating Centre, JPN-89) and is involved in disseminating IPE and CP in collaboration with the World Health Organisation.
