Synopsis

Ceramic-matrix composites (CMCs) possess high specific strength and specific modulus and have already been applied in hot-section components of aeroengines. The book focuses on the design, fabrication and testing of different CMC components, e.g., turbine guide vanes, combustor liner, and turbine blisk, etc. The high-temperature mechanical properties, and performance requirements of the aeroengines were also introduced. Dr. Xiaochong Liu is an Associate Professor in Northwestern Polytechnical University. Professor Liu’s research focuses on the design, fabrication, machining, performance characterization, and thermal structural health monitoring of ceramic-matrix composites. In this research area, he has participated in many national key projects and presided over 15 other provincial and ministerial level projects. He has rich experience in the design, fabrication, assessment, and application of CMCs hot-section components for aeroengines.

Dr. Longbiao Li is a lecturer in the College of Civil Aviation at the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Dr. Li’s research focuses on the vibration, fatigue, damage, fracture, reliability, safety and durability of aircraft and aero engine. In this research area, he is the first author of 203 SCI Journal Publications (58 JCR Q1), 12 Monograph, 4 Edited Books, 4 Textbooks, 3 Book Chapters, 34 Chinese Patents, 2 Chinese Software Copyright, and more than 30 refereed conference proceedings. He has been involved in different projects related to structural damage, reliability, and airworthiness design for aircraft and aero engines, supported by the Natural Science Foundation of China, COMAC Company, and AECC Commercial Aircraft Engine Company.
