Han Lei is one of the pioneers of Chinese photography. Han Lei obsessively explores the space between real and artificial, beauty and ugliness, whether walking through the streets as close as possible to the real or through his strange, colourful portraits. This collection puts a strong emphasis on his early black and white works from the nineties, which have rarely been seen.
