This particular weapon know as the Kike among Kiranti People, Khukuri among Nepali speakers and Kukri among foreigners lack a written history. One finds it difficult to pinpoint its exact genesis. I have been studying with this task of writing this history. In this book I pointed out a geocultural reality about kikes. Kirantis have traditions, customs and rites that are directly and indirectly associated with kikes.

Kaman Sing Kiranti Rai joined britain's brigarde of Gurkhas as a line boy at Boy Training Company, Sungai Patani Kedah, North Malayasia in 1952. As a post-1947 walla, during his infantry soldiering in the 10th Princess Mary's Own Gurkha Rifles, he served in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Borneo, United Kingdom , Cyprus, Brunei, Fiji Islands and Australia. He got retirement from the British Gurkha Army as a Major Gurkha Officer in 1984.
