Synopsis

“For centuries, humanity has searched for the source of true happiness, inner peace, and freedom from suffering. We have looked outward for answers, yet the deepest healing has always begun in the unseen landscape of the soul.

Long before modern psychology gave names to emotional wounds and inner struggles, philosophers, scholars, and spiritual seekers understood a profound truth: the human heart suffers when it is separated from reality, purpose, and understanding. Healing does not come from escaping pain, but from seeing the world as it is and ourselves as we truly are.

A Book for When Sadness Finds You explores the timeless connection between wisdom and inner transformation. Drawing inspiration from the reflections of great thinkers, philosophers, and spiritual teachers across traditions, this book reveals how genuine knowledge can liberate the soul from confusion, fear, and illusion, restoring harmony and tranquillity within.

Blending years of study with personal reflection and lived experience, the author presents a deeply human exploration of the questions that touch us all: Why do we suffer? What prevents us from, and how can we, experiencing lasting happiness? What knowledge can truly set us free?

This is not a book of final answers but an invitation to a journey of discovery. It is a personal synthesis of ideas, insights, and lessons gathered from many sources and tested through the realities of life. Through its pages, readers are encouraged to look inward with honesty and courage, to uncover the wisdom already waiting within, and to reconnect with the deeper meaning and purpose of existence.

The greatest truths are often not hidden because they are inaccessible but because we rarely search for them within ourselves. This book offers a path toward that inner discovery. It offers a path where knowledge becomes healing, understanding becomes peace, and the soul finds its way back to harmony.”

À propos de l'auteur

Ahmed Tolba is a devoted husband, loving father, accomplished lawyer, and  passionate writer whose life and work are guided by a deep reverence for human  experience. He was born on June 2, 1977, in Cairo, Egypt, a city where the ancient  and the eternal coexist, and where questions about life, death, and what comes  after echoes for millennia.  Though studied and practiced law, Ahmed's life has been shaped less by  professional designation than by a sustained devotion to thought. From an early  age, he has been drawn to reading, reflection, and the quiet discipline of writing.  For Ahmed, thinking is not the pursuit of answers but an openness to questions  that resist closure. His work grows out of careful attention to language, silence, and  the tension between reason and uncertainty. He approaches writing as a  philosophical act, a space in which ideas are tested, clarified, and sometimes  undone. Reading, in this sense, becomes a form of dialogue across time, and writing  a continuation of that dialogue in his own voice.  Over the years, Ahmed has published numerous books internationally. Yet  publication, for him, is not an endpoint. Each book marks a moment within a longer  intellectual journey, an attempt to articulate what remains difficult to name. His  writing reflects a balance between analytical rigor and contemplative depth,  shaped by both disciplined learning and lived experience.  Underlying Ahmed's work is a persistent concern with meaning, time, and the  conditions of understanding. He is interested in how thought unfolds slowly, how  ideas mature through patience, and how clarity often emerges only after sustained  uncertainty. Rather than offering doctrines or systems, his writing invites readers  into reflection, asking them to dwell with questions rather than resolve them too  quickly.  Ahmed continues to read and write as forms of attention to the purpose and to the  self. His work stands as an ongoing meditation on thought, its responsibilities, and  its quiet power to illuminate human experience.
