Synopsis

"Mouths of the Junction" is a collection of 14 individual but interrelated stories of 14 colourful characters living in the same neighbourhood and interacting in all kinds of ways. Each of these stories may stand on its feet as an independent short story but which collectively make up a novel with an eclectic mix of memorable and dynamic characters whose lives have been intertwined in various dramatic ways. The 14 chapters (one for each of the main characters) are concise accounts of the protagonists with short anecdotal pieces around them that show a community telling its own story in ways that are humorous, insightful and fast paced.**********"Gibril deployed a powerful socio-linguistic approach to communication in an African setting."Gbanabom Hallowell, poet, novelist & playright; Freetown, Sierra Leone*****"'Mouths of the Junction' is a brilliant piece of literature written as told in the oral neighborhood gossip manner of telling, universally appealing even where the characters, situations and incidents may not be familiar or may be peculiar to only those native to the setting of the story thus evoking a strong sense of both the familiar and fresh all at once."Mohamed Sheriff, novelist, author of children's books,PEN SL, Freetown, Sierra Leone
