Lama Phurbu Tashi Rinpoche was born in Tibet in 1973. He was recognized as a Tulku or incarnate Lama by Bo Gangkar Monastery. Lama received his early monastic education at the Gangkar Monastery and later he attended the Palpung Monastery college for two years. He is a practicing monk who studied with several masters in India, Sikkim and Nepal. Lama eventually attended the Nalanda Institute in India and achieved excellent success as a Buddhist scholar. With renewed dedication Lama entered the traditional 3 year, 3 month and 3 day retreat under the guidance of V V Bokar Rinpoche. Upon completion of the retreat he became a three year retreat teacher. He wrote this book about vegetarianism. Both H H DalaiLlama and H H Karmapa Orgyen Trinle Dorje recommend this book and underline the importance of the message of the author. Lama made his way to the USA and is now residing and teaching the Annapolis MD area. He has subsequently published another book entitled 'Ancient Wisdom for Modern Society'. It is about the application of the teachings of Buddhism to your life in a way that is practical and relevant to today. Both volumes have been well received and praised by all who have read them. Lama is currently teaching in Annapolis and Indonesia while he works on his third book.
