Synopsis

George Orwell's Animal Farm has occasionally been misunderstood as a fairy tale for children. In truth, it is a tough satirical pamphlet against Stalinism. The sad course of a revolution is told in the form of a fable: soon after the animals have driven their master from the farm, the pigs take control. Using propaganda and terror, they systematically destroy all the achievements of the revolution and restore the old system of domination and servitude. In the end, the pig handlers took the form of humans and suppressed the common animals with the whip. After the Second World War, the pessimistic parable was celebrated in the West as an anti-communist lesson and elevated to the standard of political education. Orwell actually wanted to attack the perverse excesses of Stalin's dictatorship in order to restore the true idea of socialism. la couverture peut différer!
