Tullio Zini, architect. Born in Reggio Emilia in 1942, he studied architecture in Florence in the 1960s, alongside the young "radical" architects of Florence. From the outset, he focused his career on participating in architecture competitions, with a particular focus on the languages of that turbulent period. In the 1980s, he teamed up with architect Andrea Branzi and for twenty-five years they participated together in national and international architecture competitions, creating a partnership that integrated their complementary professional experiences gained up to that point, and then brought those experiences back into their daily work and school design. Tullio Zini has worked on projects of various scales, from design to public buildings to fragments of cities, working not only in Italy but also in the United States, Russia and Japan. In recent years, he has devoted himself to design consultancy, drawing and sculpture.
