Ernesto Menendez-Conde (PhD. in Romance Studies, Duke University 2009) is a Cuban scholar interested in studying aesthetic ideologies in contemporary art. He recently published the first two volumes of Trazos en los márgenes. Arte abstracto e ideologías estéticas en Cuba (he is currently working in the third tome of this book).

Luis Trápaga Brito is a Cuban artist. He graduated from Academy of Fine Arts "San Alejandro," in 1986. He has made his first solo show in Havana, in the year 2002. Trápaga also exhibited in Prague, Barcelona, and Miami, besides participating in collective shows in Havana, Spain, the Czech Republic, and the United Stated. In 2012 he inaugurated El Círculo. It was an underground open studio located in his own apartment. He recently illustrated the book Cuadernos carcelarios, Hurón Azul, Madrid, 2021.
