Synopsis

“Am I too small for God to see?” asked the lamb.
“God knows every sparrow,” said the sparrow. “And I’m much smaller than you.”

One morning on a hill of olive trees, a shepherd girl named Hannah finds a little lamb who has wandered from the flock. Soon a tiny sparrow and a slow-but-steady little donkey join them, and the four friends set off together down a winding path through the Holy Land.

Along the way they find a rainbow full of promise, tall whispering reeds by the river, a humble stable in Bethlehem, a boy who shared his lunch, and a stormy sea that Jesus makes calm. With every step, the little lamb asks the big questions children ask: Who made all of this? Do I matter? Where is God when I’m scared? Each answer is gentle, simple and drawn from the Bible.

Inside this book:

  • Soft, hand-painted watercolor illustrations on every page
  • Short, tender conversations that are perfect for reading aloud

  • A “Draw yourself walking with Hannah and her friends!” page at the end
