SURVIVOLOGY

The Science, Philosophy and Ethics of Survival
A Scientific, Philosophical and Ethical Framework for the Survival of Life

By Haydar Toraman

What does it truly mean to survive?

SURVIVOLOGY explores survival not merely as a biological process, but as a fundamental challenge for human beings, animals, plants, societies, civilizations, and the future of life itself.

The book brings together science, philosophy, ethics, and systems thinking to develop a comprehensive perspective on how life can persist, adapt, regenerate, and evolve under changing conditions.

From biological evolution and ecosystems to biodiversity, health, psychological resilience, social cooperation, technology, artificial intelligence, and the long-term future of life in the cosmos, SURVIVOLOGY progressively expands the meaning of survival.

At its heart are seven dimensions of survival: biological, ecological, conscious, ethical, social, technological, and cosmic survival.

The book asks a fundamental question:

How can we survive in a way that allows not only ourselves, but also other living beings and future generations, to have a livable future?

A central element is Haydar Toraman’s 3D Method: Time – Place – Responsibility. Decisions should not be evaluated only by their immediate benefits, but also by their consequences across time, across places, and for other living beings and future generations.

The final part presents Haydar Toraman’s own Survivology Theory as a proposed philosophical and interdisciplinary framework connecting survival with knowledge, adaptation, cooperation, ethics, responsibility, resilience, and future-oriented thinking.

SURVIVOLOGY therefore goes beyond the question “How do we survive?”

It asks the deeper question:

“What kind of survival do we want to create for the future of life?”

A book about life, vulnerability, resilience, responsibility, and the possibility of a shared future.

Ethical guiding principle:

“Do no evil, do good – for all living beings, regardless of time and place.”
