The writing of this book deals with the true Apocalypse. The reason I emphasize true is because of so much misrepresentation of the Apocalypse through misdirected religious, as well as secular writers. The true Apocalypse is “the revelation of Jesus Christ.” It is not about the antichrist, the beasts, false prophets, or any of the other anti-God representations of the Book of Revelation. There is more emphasis on the “mark of the beast” than on the mark of God, or the seal of God upon His saints.
I believe the entire Bible should be interpreted Christo-centrically, which means that Jesus should be focus of all Scriptures. The prophets of Old foresaw His day. Jesus should be the center of all emphasis, not only in the future, but in the present. He is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets.
The majority of the evangelical world focuses on the future fulfillment of most issues related to the Apocalypse. That takes the focus off from the “now,” what God is doing now. Emphasis on the past or the future causes us to lose sight of today. Today, if we will hear His voice.
Much of the church world, including most evangelicals, are preaching a snatching away of the saints before a disastrous period of Great Tribulation. This has been called the “rapture” of the Church, which is a secret catching away of believers (separate from the Second Advent of Christ), either for the purpose of escape from tribulation, or as dispensationalists teach, the means of God removing the Church in order for Him to resume His dealing with the natural nation of Israel.
Dispensationalists teach that there is a clear distinction between God’s dealing with the Church and Israel, and that requires two separate programs with a return to Old Testament types and shadows of the Old Testament in a future literal 1000-year reign of Christ on the earth, simply known as the Millennium. This return means the rebuilding of a natural Temple and the reinstitution of animal sacrifices, which in my opinion will never be the plan of God. This would be counter to the finished work of Jesus, who was the once for all slain Lamb for the redemption of mankind.
The Church, which is the Body of Christ, is the channel through which the Kingdom of God is revealed. It is through the Church that the manifestation of the wisdom of God is revealed to principalities and powers. We as the Body of Christ represent a light to the world, reflecting the light that Jesus is.
I want to emphasis that my desire is to exalt the name of Jesus, who is already King of kings and the Lord of lords. He came to preach and establish the Kingdom of God in His earthly ministry of three and one-half years. His Kingdom did not come with observation, but was an inward Kingdom that seeks to bring all under its authority.
I want to emphasize the importance of focusing on what God is doing in this present hour. Unfortunately, many are expecting things to be yet fulfilled that have already been fulfilled. It is easy to say, “One day, God will…” It’s is easy to put off into the future, realizing that it is already available to us. I’m not looking for a future Millennium. Jesus has promised to return to the earth, but I don’t want my focus to be on “one” coming. I am looking for many appearances and manifestations of His presence. I don’t want to miss my day of visitation, as I believe God is continually revealing Himself.
