Synopsis

He can bend time. He can save lives. He just can’t remember the life he’s already lived.

The boy known as the Time Prince has existed for longer than recorded history. He does not age. He can slow a falling bullet, reverse the damage of a burning building, and step through moments that everyone else experiences only once.

But there is one thing time has never given him back:

himself.

His name, his origins, the people he has loved, and the countless centuries behind him have been worn away by an endless cycle of forgetting. Every city is new. Every meal can taste like the first. Every friendship begins without a yesterday.

Then he arrives in a recovering San Diego and does something unusual.

He stays.

There he meets Puabi, a mysterious young woman who knows him far better than he knows himself—and claims she has spent forty-seven centuries finding him, losing him, and waiting for him to return. As the Time Prince begins building a life in the present, his extraordinary abilities attract the attention of a brilliant scientist obsessed with unlocking the secrets of time for reasons far more personal than scientific curiosity.

What begins as the story of a wandering superhero becomes something larger: a meditation on memory, grief, mercy, identity, and whether a person is defined by the past he remembers—or by the choices he makes now. The Time Prince repeatedly discovers that the people sent against him are often wounded people carrying losses they would give anything to undo, forcing him to confront a question no manipulation of time can easily answer: What do you do when the past cannot be fixed?

Told as a novel in 48 issues, The Prince of Time combines the scale and imagination of a superhero comic universe with the emotional depth of character-driven science fiction.

Because for a boy who can go almost anywhere in time, the greatest journey may be learning why anyone chooses to remain.
