Synopsis
When the sky turns green over Utah, Joe Henfry has eight hours to find out if two years of preparation were worth anything.
He moved his family from Los Angeles to a bench in the Wasatch Range for exactly this: a spring that runs year round, a cellar full of wheat, and forty acres nobody drives past. His wife Imogen thought the Faraday cage was a plywood box. Their kids thought the drills were a game.
Then the grid dies in ninety seconds and never comes back.
Within days a neighbor is executed in the road. A man with twenty two years of invoices knows exactly what the Henfrys own. Someone is on the ridge with a scoped rifle and a reason nobody understands. And nine hundred tons of wheat sit in a bin at the bottom of the canyon while four thousand people start counting their last cans.
Joe can protect his family or he can save the valley. Winter is coming either way.
