Synopsis

When No One Knows Who Gave the Order
A submarine with no flag. No name. And a crew desperately trying to be heard.
When a Norwegian patrol aircraft discovers an unidentified nuclear submarine drifting on the surface of the North Atlantic, nothing about the encounter makes sense. The boat answers no hails. A man appears on the casing, falls into the freezing sea, and moments later the submarine deliberately dives, leaving him behind.
Then sonar detects something from deep inside the hull.
Three knocks. A pause. Three more.
USS Subzero is sent to investigate.
Captain Jack Setter has only recently returned to sea after the events that nearly destroyed his boat and killed seven of his sailors. Now he is being asked to track a submarine that officially does not exist, while a multinational special operations team prepares for a boarding nobody can predict.
What begins as a search-and-rescue mission quickly becomes something far more dangerous.
There are armed men aboard the mystery submarine. Parts of the crew are fighting one another. Hidden compartments contain equipment that was never supposed to be found. And somewhere inside a fragmented intelligence programme, someone is still issuing orders.
Orders that authenticate correctly.
Orders that could kill everyone aboard.
As Setter and Finnish special operations captain Elias Laine close in from opposite sides of the Atlantic, they uncover a trail of covert missions, missing records and secrets buried beneath the ocean.

It may belong to nobody at all.
