Synopsis

In the kingdom of Velis, bloodline is not born. It is cultivated.

Every great house grows its heirs from sacred bone trees fed with the remains of their ancestors. The fruit ripens, the shell splits, and a child emerges—already claimed by the family that owns the branch.

Silev Ardan has spent his life tending those trees without ever being allowed to belong to one. A bastard gardener in the royal orchard, he knows how to graft branches, fight blight, and survive by keeping his head down.

Then one forbidden tree bears fruit out of season.

A boy emerges from the white shell carrying the memories of a man who died thirty years earlier. Soon, more children begin to appear, each carrying fragments of lives that should have remained buried.

The crown sees an opportunity: an army of bodies carrying the memories of the dead.

The temple sees a threat that could destroy everything it teaches about death.

And the dead want their stolen lives back.

Forced to flee with the impossible child, Silev finds himself caught between royal power, religious authority, and a growing mystery beneath the ancient orchards. Meanwhile, Nemea, a temple operative trained to destroy what the kingdom cannot explain, begins to question the very system she has spent her life protecting.

As the bone trees awaken and the boundaries between the living and the dead begin to collapse, Silev must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice to protect the children—and whether the kingdom that buried people like him deserves to survive.

In Velis, nothing planted stays buried.

And the dead are beginning to remember.
