Synopsis

Five strangers. Five objects. Five million dollars for each one.

Detective Michael Duarte is one of five people invited to meet Julian Zantis, the wealthy owner of Orbital Lens Intelligence.

Five envelopes lie on the table. Six chairs surround it.

Zantis wants five objects acquired: an idol, twelve gold coins, a sword, a broken stone, and a piece of metal nobody can explain. Similar objects exist around the world, but the candidates receive only enough clues to begin their search.

More than one candidate may pursue the same object. Only the first to deliver the right one gets paid. Whatever remains of the five-million-dollar budget is theirs to keep.

How they obtain the object is their problem.

What begins as a lucrative search soon becomes a contest of hidden agendas. The candidates are being watched, but none knows who else is hunting the same prize. Every promising lead could be a trap. Every mistake gives someone else more control.

They came for five million dollars.

Soon, getting out alive may be the only prize that matters.

The Sixth Chair is a tense thriller of deception, dangerous bargains, and a competition in which nobody knows all the rules.
