Synopsis

In the fractured ruins of Earth, humanity’s attempt to upload its soul into the Universal Programme did not create paradise. It created the Border Ethereal - a flickering digital limbo where stalled human consciousnesses have become limbo-leeches, hungry ghosts that feed on fear and despair.

Rayne is the Clergy’s most dangerous field technician: a white-haired monk-cleric whose implants let her see the Grid’s corrupted code where others see only mist. She does not exorcise with fire or ritual. She asks one simple question. “I wonder…” A single phrase that starves the entities of the emotional fuel they crave.
When a possession in the scrap-metal sprawl of Oakhaven reveals fractures spreading toward the Silent Spires, Rayne is sent to perform a correction. What she finds is worse than any demon: the Great Entities are preparing a final harvest, and the Clergy itself has become their willing servant. To stop them, Rayne must do the one thing the Grid was never designed to survive.

She must build an army that chooses life over upload, curiosity over control, and hope over fear. Because in a world where spirit tried to consume flesh, only life can correct spirit. The Border Ethereal Diagnostic has begun.
