Synopsis

Ten Years: A Journal of a Heart is written in first person, in the style of a journal. The story spans the years 1980 to 1990, following one man's search for true love in a decade when unbridled sex was rampant and AIDS began its death march across the US.

Christopher is dumped after five years of love and loyalty because his partner Jack no longer wants him. Heartbroken, Christopher turns to Donald, his best friend. Donald's advice is succinct: get a haircut and new clothes. So Christopher heads to a local mall, where he meets Patrick and is then introduced to a slice of Philadelphia's gay society that he hardly knew existed. Over the next ten years Christopher travels the world from Italy, where he meets Gianni, a music student; to Costa Rica, where he becomes entangled in an effort to foil an assassination plot; to England, that Sceptered Isle, where love once again eludes him.

Christopher kisses a lot of frogs before-one snowy night on the street where he lives-he meets Eric. Will this chance meeting be the end of Christopher's search for his prince?

Michael Halfhill began writing novels in 2002 after retiring from the DuPont Company. He currently lives in a small village in Delaware. Michael and his companion of twenty-six years show their borzoi dogs at local AKC dog shows. When he is not writing, Michael practices playing his cello, which he freely admits that he is not very good at. His favorite music is Gregorian chant, his favorite composer is Mozart, and his favorite bands are Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac.
