Synopsis

A TERRITORIAL IDEA. A CENTURY OF CONSEQUENCES.

Every state has founding myths. Some remain in the past. Others become policy. The Greater Israel Project traces one consequential idea-the belief that Israel's legitimate borders extend beyond the 1949 armistice lines-from early Revisionist Zionism through the settlement era and into the wars that reshaped Gaza, Libya, Syria, and Iran.

Drawing on primary documents, declassified intelligence, official statements, international legal findings, and contemporary reporting, David Velardo examines how the language of security has repeatedly accompanied territorial expansion and regional fragmentation. He also follows the costs beyond the battlefield: Palestinian displacement, American military entanglement, espionage between allies, and a defense relationship increasingly embedded in law and industry.

Provocative but evidence-driven, this second volume in the Building Upon Lies series asks readers to look past slogans, examine the record, and decide whether separate conflicts reveal a continuous political project.
