Synopsis

Troy has fallen. Now the victors turn on one another.

After ten years of war, the Greek kings divide the spoils and are themselves divided. Athena has been offended. Some urge the armies to remain and beg the goddess’s forgiveness. Others demand the long march home. Others set sail at once.

Among them stands Diomedes, last of the great heroes of battle. He has fought gods as well as men. Now he sails for home bearing the Palladium, stolen from the heart of the fallen city.

Yet the greater danger lies not in Troy but on a distant shore. Nauplius, father of a murdered son, swears vengeance upon the Greek kings. He means to drag every one of them down with him.

Inspired by the lost Greek epic of the victors' homecomings, Nostoi draws on the surviving myths to tell what came after the Iliad and before the Odyssey: revenge, betrayal and ruin.
