Synopsis
When a Brussels NGO's field investigator vanishes chasing a trafficking route that the authorities won't touch, Dominic Carlisle's off-book consultancy takes the case no institution can afford to finish.
Carlisle left formal service over method, not belief. What he runs now is smaller, quieter, and answerable to no one — a team of former analysts, handlers, and field operators who take the work that governments need done and can never admit to needing.
The trail starts in a warehouse outside Rotterdam and ends somewhere no one on the team can yet name. A Customs officer who took the wrong kind of money.
