Synopsis

The book of Acts describes an incredible work- that 12 Messianic Jews, localized in a small city- Jerusalem- became a universal church, a universal mission that penetrated and had a significant impact in the capital city of the most powerful empire of its day- Rome- within a generation. This movement literally “…turned the world upside down” (Acts 17:6). Without access to some of the powerful tools of communication and transportation and organization that are available to us today, these simple believers grew a sustained movement that continues 20 centuries later.
What would it take to begin such a “movement” in our churches and our communities? This book is my attempt to answer this question. Turning the World Rightside Up- sermons on the Book of Acts is a look at the book of Acts, with study questions for small group discussion. It is my attempt to reach and explore the heart of the movement and to make those principles from this magnificent book transferable to the church in the 21st century.
