Synopsis

Ten college freshmen. One abandoned lodge on Blackwood Ridge. Zero cell service. And something in the trees that has been waiting for them.

When Marcus scores a weekend at his dad’s old mountain property, the plan is simple: booze, music, no rules, and a Halloween party far from campus. What they get is a freezing, fog-choked fortress of rotting timber and silence so complete it feels like the forest is holding its breath.

Most of them party. Julian watches.

Two years of Muay Thai under a hard-ass Bangkok trainer taught him one thing: panic is a luxury that gets you killed. While the others drink and laugh, Julian maps the exits, notices the flattened brush at the tree line, the unnatural streaks on the glass, the bound bone left on a windowsill like a calling card. Something is measuring the cabin. Testing the doors. Studying them.

Then the storm hits. Power dies. Pipes rupture from underneath. Footfalls move across the roof. And when the thing finally steps into the open—tall, pale, gaunt, eyes like dead milk—it is not hunting for food.

It is claiming territory.

Julian doesn’t scream. He doesn’t freeze. He arms himself with a fire poker and a kitchen knife, fortifies the only room that still has heat, and draws a line in the dark. Because the creature isn’t just strong. It’s patient. Intelligent. And it has already decided which of them it wants to break first.

CADENCE OF COLD is a relentless, bone-chilling survival horror about what happens when the last calm man in the room refuses to die quiet.

Some predators run when you bleed them. This one remembers the face that did it.
