Synopsis

THE VILLAGE AT THE END OF THE MAP

Every road in Bramblecross runs through six household keys. Tobin has spent his life believing that was the whole truth.

When a stranger's key doesn't match any surviving family, Tobin discovers that the map his village trusted was never complete — it was edited. Somewhere beyond the roads everyone knows, a seventh household was erased from the record, and the corridor to Orison Gate that everyone assumed was neutral ground answers to a Hall that has been quietly closing accounts for generations, including some it shouldn't have had the right to close.

To find out what was cut, Tobin and a small company of villagers — a keeper's daughter, a disgraced Hall clerk, a woman carrying a debt she didn't choose — have to leave the only roads their keys were ever meant to open. What they find is a system built to make erasure look like paperwork, and a cost for repairing it that not everyone in the party survives.

The Village at the End of the Map is a slow-burn fantasy of maps, custody, and consent — where every road is also a ledger, every key is also a claim, and the bravest thing a person can do is admit a structure was broken instead of finishing what broke it.
