Synopsis

BOOK THIRTEEN — THE LAST LIGHT IN THE SQUARE
After a powerful storm, the century-old fig tree in Rurópolis’s main square falls, revealing something that had remained hidden beneath its roots for decades.
Letters, photographs, and objects lead Clara and other residents to the town’s origins and to the dreams of those who helped build it. Among the records are accounts of the clock in the square, old families, familiar characters, and a man who imagined Rurópolis before it existed.
The discovery becomes a sweeping journey through collective memory. The town realizes that its streets and buildings were made not only of wood, stone, or plans, but of the small stories of people who chose to remain.
At the close of the series, past and present meet to show that no community survives on maps alone. It remains alive in memories, affection, and the stories passed on to new generations.
A moving celebration of Rurópolis and everyone who left their light within the town.
