Synopsis

In Pineberry, strange happenings are so common they barely make the morning announcements. But even by local standards, the disappearance of the Smart Pants — a pair of semi‑sentient trousers with the emotional stability of a Victorian poet — is a bit much.

Naturally, the town turns to Rowan, a man who has spent years perfecting the art of not getting involved. Unfortunately for him, Pineberry has decided he’s the closest thing they have to a responsible adult. (A low bar, but still.)

With Harold — loyal, anxious, and catastrophically unhelpful — at his side, Rowan is dragged into a mystery involving dramatic clothing, a tailor with suspiciously guilty energy, and a Shirt that communicates exclusively in withering remarks.

As Rowan follows a trail of clues (and occasional sock lint), he discovers the Pants may not have been stolen at all… they might simply be on strike.

Warm, witty, and delightfully ridiculous, The Case of the Stolen Smart Pants is a cozy fantasy mystery where the stakes are low, the chaos is high, and the trousers have a mind of their own.
