English Description

I’ll Be Back Soon is a collection of one hundred bilingual English-Farsi very short stories, each no longer than a few sentences—or, at times, only a scattering of words.
In writing within this form, I have drawn on the distinctive qualities of the genre to their furthest limits: brevity, the closing blow, ambiguity, minimal characterization, and an intense focus on a single moment. I have tried to make each of these brief narratives a small spark struck from a hidden wound, a fragment of life, so that in the reader’s mind it may leave an impression as deep as that of a much longer story.
I have prepared this collection in both Farsi-Dari and English so that young people living far from their homeland—those who read and write less and less in Farsi—may renew their bond with their mother tongue and with their roots. I should also note that the English versions of these pieces are not word-for-word translations, but re-creations, so that the voice and texture of the original may remain alive in the English language as well.

زود بر می گردم- مجموعه ای از یکصد داستانک دوزبانه (انگلیسی -فارسی) بسیار کوتاهی است که هر کدام از چند جمله و یا تعدادی از واژه فراتر نمی رود. در نوشتن این گونه ای ادبی، از ویژه گی های این ژانر چون ایجاز، ضربه ی پایانی، ابهام، شخصیت پردازی مینی مال و تمرکز روی یک لحظه، تا حد نهایی بهره برده و کوشیده ام هر یک از این روایت های چند خطی جرقه ی کوچکی باشد از زخمی پنهان و حکایتی از زندگی، تا در ذهن خواننده تاثیری به ژرفای یک داستان بلند به جا بگذارد.
این مجموعه را به دو زبان فارسی و انگلیسی آماده کرده ام تا جوانانی که در سرزمین های دور از میهن زندگی می کنند و کمتر فارسی می خوانند و می نویسند با زبان مادری و ریشه های شان پیوند یابند. همچنان باید یادآور شوم که برگردان انگلیسی این داستانک ها نه واژه به واژه بلکه باز آفرینی آنهاست تا لحن متن اصلی در زبان دیگر نیز زنده بماند.
