Synopsis
The adults were supposed to build the future. Instead, their children built one without them.
Two hundred years after the colony ship Ardent Dawn reached a new world, the mission crew still sleeps beneath the hull, waiting for the day they are meant to wake and lead humanity into its second chance.
Above them, First Hill has already become a world of its own.
Raised by Mother Arc, old records, hard laws, and the people who survived the first generations, Ilya has grown up in the shadow of a ship she never chose. She knows the rules of First Hill. She knows no person owns another person’s body, labor, origin, memory, or future.
