Raymond A. Serway is an emeritus professor at James Madison University. He earned his doctorate at Illinois Institute of Technology. Among his accolades, he has received an honorary doctorate degree from his alma mater, Utica College, the 1990 Madison Scholar Award at James Madison University where he taught for 17 years, the 1977 Distinguished Teaching Award at Clarkson University and the 1985 Alumni Achievement Award from Utica College. As a Guest Scientist at the IBM Research Laboratory in Zurich, Switzerland, Dr. Serway worked with K. Alex Müller, who shared the 1987 Nobel Prize in Physics. He was also a visiting scientist at Argonne National Laboratory where he collaborated with his mentor and friend, the late Sam Marshall. Dr. Serway is the co-author of "Physics For Scientists and Engineers: College Physics"; "Principles of Physics"; "Essentials of College Physics"; "Modern Physics" and the high school textbook, "Physics," published by Holt McDougal. He has published more than 40 research papers in the field of condensed matter physics and has given more than 60 presentations at professional meetings.

John W. Jewett Jr. is Emeritus Professor of Physics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He earned his undergraduate degree in physics at Drexel University and his doctorate at The Ohio State University, specializing in optical and magnetic properties of condensed matter. Dr. Jewett began his academic career at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, where he taught from 1974 to 1984. Active in promoting effective physics education, he has received four National Science Foundation grants in physics education, and he helped found and direct the Southern California Area Modern Physics Institute (SCAMPI) and Science IMPACT (Institute for Modern Pedagogy and Creative Teaching). Dr. Jewett's honors include the Stockton Merit Award at Richard Stockton College in 1980, selection as Outstanding Professor at California State Polytechnic University for 1991–1992 and the Excellence in Undergraduate Physics Teaching Award from the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) in 1998. In 2010, he received an Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award from Drexel University in recognition of his contributions in physics education. Dr. Jewett is the author of "The World of Physics: Mysteries, Magic, and Myth," which provides many connections between physics and everyday experiences. In addition, he is co-author with Dr. Serway of "Principles of Physics," 5th Edition. Dr. Jewett enjoys learning languages, traveling and most importantly, spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their children and grandchildren.

Vahé Peroomian is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southern California. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in Physics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He was awarded a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship at the Aerospace Corporation, after which he returned to UCLA to carry out research in magnetospheric physics with funding from NASA and the National Science Foundation. During nearly three decades of research, he gave over 200 invited and contributed presentations at scientific conferences and published over 60 research papers in refereed journals. Dr. Peroomian has devoted himself to teaching undergraduate physics courses and general education astronomy courses for the last 25 years. While at UCLA, he was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award by the Department of Physics and Astronomy for each of the 9 academic years he taught there. At USC, he received the 2019–2020 General Education Teaching Award, and he was selected for the inaugural Interdisciplinary Teaching Program Grant and the inaugural iPodia Faculty Fellows Program. From 2005 to 2020, Dr. Peroomian served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Glendale Community College in Glendale, California, a city-wide elected position to which he was reelected three times. Dr. Peroomian is an avid hiker and photographer and is often on road trips with his wife, Carolyn, and with his children. He has published two books of essays and photographs, "A Photographic Journey of my Homeland, Armenia" and "Ode to the Eastern Sierra."
