NIKKI SHANNON SMITH is an educator and the award-winning author of over twenty books for children, ranging from board books to middle grade novels. Her work includes the Brown Baby Parade series and the Little Golden Books Our Beautiful Colors and The Little Christmas Elf. She was born and raised in Oakland, California, and loves to escape her home in the Sacramento area to visit the coast whenever she can. The first thing she packs in her suitcase is always a book.

DON TATE is the award-winning creator of numerous picture book biographies including Jerry Changed the Game!: How Engineer Jerry Lawson Revolutionized Video Games Forever and Swish!: The Slam-Dunking, Alley-Ooping, High-Flying Harlem Globetrotters.
