Synopsis

More than a third of young people are experiencing loneliness and craving deep and lasting friendships, but the truth is that friendship is hard, with few nailing the secret to doing it perfectly. But cultivating solid and intentional friendships is a skill that can be practiced and honed. In The Friendship Devotional, speaker and friendship expert Bailey Hurley seeks to combat these hurdles by offering guidance, hope, and practical tips for cultivating and maintaining genuine friendships in an age of disconnection. Divided into four sections—Planting, Tending, Pruning, and Blooming, this devotional addresses friendship realities and challenges in a variety of stages, whether you're needing advice on how to make friends, how to keep up with several different friends, how to create boundaries or handle conflict, or how to deepen existing friendships so they can truly thrive. Each section has ten devotions, which all close with a reflection question and a unique prayer. You will also find friendspiration tips such as conversation starters, how to ask for help, and how to cancel plans thoughtfully, as well as friend date ideas like charity game nights, holiday homecomings, and friendiversary celebrations. However you engage with this forty-day devotional, may it foster in you a greater confidence in pursuing new friendships, a better understanding of how to nurture and develop existing relationships, and a deeper awareness of the many friendship "gifts" God has already given you.
