Written by a mother to her daughter, They Will Ask is a powerful and vibrant story about taking pride in our culture, language, origins, and all that makes us unique. Lexa Duno-Andreu is a former teacher-turned-entrepreneur living in Dade City, FL. In 2020, she started The Lit Advocate, which focuses on supporting children's literacy development through reading remediation and intervention services.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, to a Venezuelan father and Irish-American mother, Lexa often felt she was on the outside of two cultures, looking in, and never quite able to claim the Latina or Irish-American identity as her own. Later, Lexa met and married her husband, a Venezuelan immigrant himself, and was inspired to write They Will Ask when their own daughter, Annalucia, was born. The lyrical story pays homage to the beauty in diversity and multiculturalism, empowering children to celebrate their differences and take pride in being "neither, nor" and "both...and more."

Lexa Duno-Andreu is a mother, wife, and former classroom teacher. In 2020, she started her own education business, The Lit Advocate, with a mission to support children's literacy. Her goal as a literacy specialist, mom, and author is to inspire kids to find that one book to spark a lifelong companionship with reading.
Genesis Vásquez was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1995, and has been passionate about art since she was very young. She was 16 years old when she first experienced the magic of painting and the omnipresent and communicative power of art. Since then, she has had the opportunity to exhibit her pieces in Caracas, Venezuela; Buenos Aires, Argentina; as well as White's Art Gallery (Miami, FL), CABETCAL House of Art and Culture (Orlando, FL) and City Arts (Orlando, FL). During her career she has explored abstract art, however, her current work more closely resembles Pop Art, with absolute freedom in each stroke and tones that stir a variety of emotions and sensations.
