Synopsis

Grief is as universal as love, two common threads that connect all human beings.
Yet surprisingly we receive little, if any, education on the process of grief or how to express the many emotions that come with it. In other times and cultures, grief was processed, shared and supported in community, As our society has become more busy, stressed, secular, far-flung and isolated, increasing numbers of families are choosing not to have funerals or memorials, leaving expression of grief to the individual.

Grief is unique to each person and to each loss. It is often life-changing and can be complicated, messy, an intensely physical, emotional and spiritual roller coaster, painful, overwhelming and lonely.

This is the poignant, honest story of one woman’s grief following the loss of her husband and partner of 45 years. Through facing hard times and bringing powerful emotions into the light, the author offers us a journey of insight, compassion, and renewed confidence in personal strength and life purpose, demonstrating that indeed, grief can be survived, and even transformative.
