Synopsis

Can Sanchi, Monchie, and friends defeat the evil knights known as Erebus, and bring peace to the villages? A timeless tale of good versus evil, Sanchi and Monchie and The Magic Whiskers features two young orphans, and their mission to restore peace. After Erebus attacks their parents, Sanchi and Monchie are left homeless and alone. Then Spirit Bird appears to explain that the orphans have been chosen for a very special mission—to defeat the evil knights. Together with Spirit Bird; a wise cat named Meogic; and Fire Dragon, the orphans set out with three magic whiskers as their only weapon. To summon strength and courage against Erebus, Sanchi and Monchie sing—and remember their parents' strong love and wisdom. Filled with action, and including the words and music to Sanchi and Monchie's song, “Le, Lo.”

À propos des auteurs

Kia Portafekas is a musician, composer, teacher, and author. Her first book, Making Music With Your Child, published by MMB Music, Inc., was funded in part by a grant from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. She has also recorded Kia's Kids, a CD of original songs by her students ages 6-12, and been featured in a documentary, Kia's Kids, which aired on PBS. She is a graduate of Queens College (Aaron Copland School of Music), Mannes Conservatory, and New York's famous FAME School-Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art. www.MusicKia.com

Sally Portafekas was born and raised in New York City. She managed a medical office in New York for twenty-five years, choosing to work in healthcare to make a difference in people's lives. After retirement, she pursued a career as a watercolor artist and photographer. She also worked at the Children's Museum of Phoenix as a "playologist," engaging in exploratory play with children.

Illustrated by: Haley BerlakHaley is a Freelance Illustrator that specializes in Children's Books, Character Design and Calligraphy. Previously she illustrated for Norella Press, LLC for the "Critter Sitter Chronicles", a middle grade children's book series. Ever since she first picked up a pencil at the age of two, Haley has always had a creative spirit!
