Synopsis

WINNER, BEST ACTION THRILLER 2025 – Best Thrillers Book Awards

A shadow rises from the depths.
The hunters have become the hunted.
Justice was never meant to rest in peace.

He vanished into the cold waters off Scotland, two relentless hunters at his back. Days later, the world was asking the same question: what became of Aadan Mukhtaar, the man who brought Europe to its knees?

That night, investigative journalist Mathieu James and MI5 agent Conan MacGregor thought they had cornered evil itself. But as the black water swallowed its secrets, neither man could be sure if the terror mastermind was dead, or simply waiting to return.

A week later, a yacht drifts into Oslo harbor, its silent deck carrying a message soaked in mystery. As the investigation spirals from Edinburgh’s ruins to Washington’s corridors of power, through Moscow’s covert networks to London’s secret cells, one truth emerges: Everything leads to Norway’s glacial heart, a place where the dead have placed vengeance in the hands of an ordinary man.

As whispers of another attack grow louder, James teams up with MacGregor, CIA analyst Alyssa Stevens, and reporter Ana-Marie Poulin on a mission that blurs the line between justice and revenge. What begins in the frozen north could end in fire, and not everyone will make it out alive. In a war fought in shadows, every ally hides a secret, and every decision could trigger chaos.

In this explosive sequel to The Scotland Project, old enemies resurface, loyalties fracture, and vengeance closes in. Messenger for the Dead is espionage reborn, ruthless, human, and impossible to forget. Perfect for fans of Baldacci, Flynn, Clancy and Carr.
