What do we carry with us when the winds begin to change?
In Wind and Wing: Tales of the Raven, Raven travels through a shifting landscape, crossing paths with a bear, a lotus, a black Labrador, a lotus, an octopus, and others who each carry a story of their own. Told through a collection of interconnected, allegorical tales, Wind and Wing explores ambition, belonging, resilience, and the ways we lose and rediscover ourselves. Some characters cling tightly to what has kept them safe. Others learn to leave familiar paths behind. And as Raven listens to their stories, a journey that begins as an observation of others gradually becomes one of reclamation.
Part fable, part reflection, Wind and Wing is a small book about life's larger transitions: the identities we build, the places we outgrow, and the courage it takes to find our way toward something new.

Sarah Dooley is a writer and mixed-media artist based in the Pacific Northwest. Her work is shaped by a curiosity about how people navigate change, how the environments around us influence who we become, and what happens when we begin choosing our own direction. Before turning more seriously toward writing and art, Sarah spent more than a decade working in complex, fast-paced environments. Those experiences gave her a close view of ambition, pressure, belonging, and the ways people adapt within the systems around them. Her first book, Wind and Wing: Tales of the Raven, draws from those experiences as well as a broader collection of people, places, relationships, and moments gathered over time. Through allegory and myth, her writing explores identity, resilience, belonging, and the courage it sometimes takes to reconsider the path we thought we were supposed to follow. Alongside writing, Sarah creates block prints, mosaics, and mixed-media work inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. Across both writing and visual art, she is drawn to the intersection of structure and experimentation and to the possibilities that emerge when we look at something familiar from a different angle.
