Synopsis

Formula 1 champion Loïc Chalumeau is coming home. The Midwest native has conquered Monaco and dominated Europe. Now he’s chasing the crown jewel of his career: victory at the Indianapolis 500.

The IndyCar paddock is ecstatic. Except for Cam Wexford. Everyone in racing knows Cam by a nickname. Loïc—who assumes it’s her real name—has no reason to look closer. But if he did, he would realize that Cam is the sister of the driver who nearly killed him on track twenty years ago. That crash didn’t derail Loïc’s future. But it obliterated Cam’s. The Wexford name went radioactive. Sponsors vanished. And Cam’s own dream of racing professionally died before it ever left the grid. Now she keeps her head down, her wrench steady, and her past buried.

Cam knows better than to fall for someone like Loïc—a tabloid fixture who is as arrogant as he is aloof. Getting involved with a driver—especially this one—could destroy the credibility she’s fought so hard to earn. But as sparks fly in the garage and tension builds on the track Cam finds herself irresistibly drawn to the one man who could ruin both her reputation and her heart if he ever learns the truth.

In a sport measured in milliseconds, can love outpace their past?
