Jack Charles Nelson was born in 1952, arriving just before the birth of Rock & Roll. The soundtrack of his early years was filled with traditional pop, jazz, ballads, instrumentals, and novelty tunes drifting across American radio stations while his father learned to play the saxophone.Raised first in Southern California and later on the San Francisco Peninsula before settling on California's Central Coast, Jack's childhood was marked by constant change. Attending multiple schools during his first nine years made it difficult to fit in, and he quickly learned how to stand up to bullies and life's challenges. A disruptive move during high school proved to be a turning point, setting him on a path he never expected. Looking back, Jack often jokes that someone must have changed his middle name to "Trouble."What followed was a lifetime of adventures, mistakes, hard lessons, near-death experiences, addiction, incarceration, loss, redemption, and remarkable encounters that would ultimately shape the man he became.
