Synopsis

But there is resistance: the House of Cards, akin to a government, attempts to challenge the Emperor's rule, though they are constantly thwarted. Charlotte finds refuge with the Wild Cards, exiles who have rejected the card system and live outside its oppressive reach. They reveal her role in uniting the kingdom, offering her the chance to bring change to a broken world.
