Synopsis

Dead Man Driving is the haunting, soulful journey of a 79-year-old Vietnam veteran grappling with the invisible wounds of war - PTSD, survivor's guilt, and the ghosts of comrades long gone. Set largely on the open road, the story unfolds as a series of reflections, encounters, and internal battles behind the wheel of his aging truck. Each mile driven is a meditation on memory, regret, loss, and the stubborn will to survive.

Haunted but unbroken, the protagonist uses long-distance drives as both escape and therapy, speaking into a camera to document his struggles and hopes for a world that rarely sees veterans like him - the ones who came home but never truly made it back. With grit, dark humor, and unexpected grace, Dead Man Driving explores the cost of silence, the redemptive power of storytelling, and what it means to live when a part of you never left the war.

À propos de l'auteur

Gregory S. Campbell is a 79-year-old Vietnam veteran, author, and advocate for PTSD awareness. A survivor of Agent Orange exposure and multiple cancer diagnoses, Gregory has dedicated his post-military life to inspiring others through storytelling, physical fitness, and mental resilience. With over four decades of strength training and boxing, he proves that age and adversity are no match for determination and discipline.

Gregory writes fiction and non-fiction that often draw from his own experiences-capturing the silent battles veterans face and the quiet courage it takes to heal. He is the creator of several social media channels that highlight the struggles and triumphs of living with PTSD, while encouraging others to find strength in movement, faith, and community.

When he's not writing, Gregory spends his time on the road working in IT support, reflecting on life behind the wheel, and connecting with fellow veterans across the country. His work is a testament to survival, purpose, and the enduring power of the human spirit.
