Summer vacation in Seabreeze was supposed to be about endless bike rides, sunny beach days, and secret meetings in their treehouse on the bluff. For sixth-graders Dalia, Kiki, Rosemarie, and Vada, it was shaping up to be the best summer ever. Until one sweltering afternoon, everything changed.
Pedaling past the old, abandoned lighthouse, the girls witness something truly bizarre: two shadowy figures struggling to load a large, rolled-up carpet into the back of a van. But this wasn't just any carpet. It was bulky. It was stiff. And it looked suspiciously like... a human body.
