Synopsis

Terrick Eichornchen was a youth full of ambition for his life, but he never managed to find his niche in the world, and after several years of trying any different careers, he resigned himself to a humdrum existence as an apprentice in the temple complex to the God of Omnipresence in Reid, Miatel. However, this is all about to change for Terrick as one of the pilgrims that has been residing in the temple grounds is revealed to be a Guardian from Hory, Zorkzemy; and he has taken a particular interest in Terrick. This novel was written back in 2006 as an e-book, but it has now been updated with better writing after the author (me) had 10 years experience of teaching English so that he could improve on the flow of the story and the grammar. I also have an illustrated PDF version of this story that can be found on Drivethru Fiction. Also, this book has been read and reviewed by one of my students Laura Padilha Da Silva, and here is what she thought of it: Sometimes, we read books in which we feel immersed in the story. Definitely, "Pilgrimage of the Guardian" is one if those superb tales; hence, everyone should enjoy the experience of this novel in which the author includes the reader and even talks to them (guessing, somehow, our thoughts). Besides this, it is quite interesting how in each moment, I identified with different characters owing to them having curious and fun personalities, and doing realistic actions when warranted. Furthermore, the author makes a connection between what the characters learn during the story and their experiences; and this forces us to reflect upon what impact it would have on our lives. Moreover, the fantasy novel tackles the emotions that are presented within the story. The book has an unpredictable plot and unforgettable characters; therefore, I got involved with the struggle of the Zork Army, the flowing romantic narrative and all the imagination of the author. Overall, this novel is a fiction that totally got my attention and respect because it made me use my imagination to create scenarios too. To sum up, I recommend that everyone read this book and feel the emotion that the story portrays. Laura (English student of Andrew Bowen)
