**Breaking the Record**
*Music, Fame, and Ambition While Breaking the Barriers*
by John M. Chiti
In one extraordinary year, musician John Chiti recorded his breakthrough album, found a sponsor who believed in him before the world did, and fell in love with a woman he first saw in someone else's camera roll. Then it all collided - a friendship fractured by an ambition he never knew he was competing against, and a loss that arrived too late for goodbye.
*Breaking the Record* is a raw, unflinching memoir about chasing a dream that was never about proving a point - it was simply about the music. Chiti, a Zambian musician and the founder of the Albinism Foundation of Zambia, writes with disarming honesty about fame, love, betrayal, and grief arriving in the same breath, and about what it means to build a life on talent rather than sympathy.
Told in his own voice, this is a story for anyone who has ever chased something purely because they loved it - and paid a price they didn't see coming.
*Proceeds from this book support the Albinism Foundation of Zambia (AFZ) and John Chiti's ongoing advocacy work.*
