Synopsis
Education in the modern era has increasingly moved away from its sacred origins, shifting from a pursuit of truth to a mechanism for industrial utility. Within the contemporary globalised landscape, the human subject is often perceived not as a spiritual entity, but as a quantifiable asset whose value is determined by its efficiency within the market. This book asserts that for the Muslim world to overcome its current intellectual malaise, a profound ontological restoration is required. We must begin by recognising that any educational framework is a projection of a specific worldview, and for the Ummah, this worldview must be anchored in the absolute sovereignty of Revelation, rather than the secular-materialist paradigms that dominate current global discourse. At the heart of this restoration lies the necessary rectification of our educational terminology and the recovery of the concept of Ta'dib. While the term Tarbiyah has become the standard descriptor for education, it often pertains primarily to social and physical nurture, which is insufficient for the metaphysical discipline of the soul. Ta'dib, however, signifies the recognition of the proper place of things within the hierarchy of existence. By placing Adab at the soul of the pedagogical process, education ceases to be a mere transfer of data and becomes a transformative discipline. This process aims to forge the Insan Kamil-the universal man who possesses the intellectual and spiritual sovereignty required to navigate the complexities of existence while remaining firmly rooted in the Divine Order.

Dr. Rifqi Khairul Anam, M.Si. is an unwavering and uncompromising thinker in the realms of philosophy and sociology. As a scholar and writer, he boldly embraces a unique and audacious style. He rejects the simplification of profound philosophical ideas for the sake of easy consumption, choosing instead to let ontological and existential complexities retain their full, authentic weight.
He currently serves as a Lecturer of Islamic Education at Institut Ahmad Dahlan Probolinggo. His research interests and philosophical reflections encompass existentialism, the philosophy of technology, and fundamental inquiries concerning Being (Sein), nothingness (Nichts), and the destiny of the human subject (Dasein) amidst the challenges of the modern era-particularly the forgetfulness of Being (Seinsvergessenheit) and the totalizing dominance of calculative reason.
This book represents one of his pivotal contributions to forging a path of authentic understanding within the technological epoch. It is a continuation of a rigorous philosophical struggle that he has cultivated over the years, culminating in a diverse array of publications.
